Penelope Gervaise is a Designer, Milliner and Teacher based in Sydney. She started her Design Career in 1994 and has always been very passionate about the Design Industry in general. She has had a successful Millinery and Childrenswear label for many years as well as designing interiors for residential and commercial clients. 

For the last 7 years Penelope has taught Millinery and Design at The Design Centre Enmore and she believes that one of her greatest achievements is her ability to share her knowledge, skills and enthusiasm with up-and-coming milliners and designers.

Penelope’s Millinery highlight so far was being awarded the Millinery Association of Australia’s Patrons Pick Award for her cocktail inspired headpiece in 2020 awarded by Stephen Jones.

Her next exciting chapter is being a part of the inaugural Sydney Wearable Art Team where she works with a collective of design, technical and events management wizards that throw their talents into the cauldron to create magic on stage at the Iconic Enmore Theatre. This event was held over 3 fabulous nights in 2023.  

The Sydney Wearable Art Gala had a designated Headwear section with over 40 entrants in that category and over 130 participants in total. Penelope is looking forward to the 2024 Sydney Wearable Art Gala and seeing all the inspirational works and designs from established and upcoming designers with this years event  being open to entrants Australia wide.
