Peacock Millinery with Belinda Osborne

Belinda Osborne is the milliner and designer behind the award winning brand Peacock Millinery.  Belinda was awarded first place in the prestigious 2021 Myer Millinery Award Fashions on your Front Lawn 2021 hosted by Victoria Racing Club (VRC).  Her winning piece Forever Bound was constructed of over 450 cut feather segments and inspired colours of her Darwin backyard.

Peacock Millinery’s talents have been acknowledged in this competition awarded a top three in 2015, 2019 and 2020.  A second-generation milliner, Belinda learnt her craftsmanship from her mother who was a milliner in Melbourne in the 1960s. She has continued her education through attending training events and now teaches herself.

Belinda has had her work showcased at various coveted events over the years including Northern Territory Fashion Week, London Hat Week Exhibition, and Millinery Australia’s Design Award where this year she was awarded second place with her piece titled ‘Mayflower 1620’.

Her work has made her the milliner of choice for the Darwin Cup Carnival Ambassador for many years and she is a great supporter of the local Darwin Cup attending race days herself and making award-winning pieces for Fashion on the Field entrants.
